SUMMER WORKSHOPS STARTING JULY 2019
Registration is now open for our next Students of Stand-up Comedy Workshops. As usual, we anticipate all workshops filling up quickly so don’t wait until the last minute to sign up. Class size is limited!
Our stand-up comedy workshops have been a part of the Orange County comedy scene since 2009 with many past graduates going on to perform at such venues as The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Ice House, just to name a few.
Whether you’re looking to pursue a career in stand-up comedy, add humor to your personal or professional life, or just fulfill that last thing on your bucket list, our workshops offer something for everyone.
Currently we offer three workshops, each running six weeks. Our Stand-up Comedy 101 Workshop is geared for those new to stand-up comedy and focuses on things such as basic joke-writing skills, stage technique, and minimizing stage fright. For those who’ve been on stage a few times and are looking to take their material to the next level, we offer our Stand-up Comedy Writer’s Workshop. This workshop focuses on writing, punching up jokes, and tightening up both old and new material. In 2017 we added Stand-up 4 Kids, an entry level workshop open to those young people with a good sense of humor who enjoy being funny and making people laugh.
Whether you’re a “newbie” who has never been on stage before, or a comedian who just wants to add “more funny” to your set, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming workshops!

An experience of a lifetime…
I loved being able to get Tom’s feedback between classes. I really appreciated that we jumped right into things on day 1 (which was really hard at the time). I liked that Tom gave us handouts on things but didn’t overwhelm us with too much information. Working through material as a group was always really fun and extremely helpful too. This was a great experience and ended up being far better than I imagined it would be. Tom was right; it did get easier. From this class, I was able to do something I never imagined I could actually pull off – and I ended up being very proud of what I did at the showcase! Thank you for being a great teacher, guide, supporter, believer and champion for us.
